Snyder doesn't want sympathy

So funny I forgot to laugh, as we used to say in Junior High.

In one of Gil Shelton's Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers episodes, Fat Freddy recreates the story of Dick Whittington's cat, traveling to the exotic east to sell synthetic sand -- cat litter, in fact. As I'm sure you remember, Whittington is rewarded, eventually, by becoming Lord Mayor of London. In Fat Freddy's case, he comes back loaded with cash and is eventually elected Mayor of Cleveland. The last panel shows Freddy being driven through the streets, being pelted with bottles and mooned by the citizenry.

And a long time back, I heard somebody being interviewed on the radio, because he'd just been appointed the Convention Director for the City of Flint, Michigan.

So take your pick: Mayor of Cleveland, Convention Czar of Flint, or Governor of Michigan. Plus, you get to pay dues to your union, the American Association of Thankless Task Executors.
